At Dove, we have a vision of a world where beauty is a source of confidence, not anxiety. Our mission is to ensure the next generation grows up enjoying a positive relationship with the way they look—helping girls raise their self-esteem and realize their full potential.
Our global research shows six out of 10 girls are so concerned with the way they look that they actually opt out of participating fully in daily life—from going swimming and playing sports to visiting the doctor, going to school, or even giving their opinions. We also know that as many as nine out of 10 girls want to change something about their appearance. Clearly something needs to be done—and that's where we come in.
The Dove Self-Esteem Project
In 2004, we founded the Dove Self-Esteem Project to help girls grow up feeling happy and confident about the way they look.
In partnership with our Global Advisory Board of leading experts, who come from fields such as psychology, health, and self-esteem, we've devised a program of world-class resources, many of which have been scientifically proven to significantly increase body confidence and self-esteem in young people.
Our resources are designed to be used by parents, teachers, mentors, and youth workers to engage and support young people, aged 7 to 17, on the issue of low body confidence. They are all free to download and use, and range from articles, action plans, and conversation starters to activities, videos, and workshops.

Partnerships We know we can’t change the world alone. So we have sought out and are working with some inspirational partner organizations to help us achieve our goals. With groups such as the World Association of Girl Guides & Girl Scouts, we are reaching even more girls with self-esteem education and helping them to aim high in life.
